Here are some tips to help search through our plant catalog.  If you enter any of these key phrases in the field box accordingly, a listing will be displayed of all plants that have that particular care rating or plant key classification.

Care rating is used to describe what kind of sunlight, water, and how big the plant will be/require.  For care rating, we use the following terms below:

  1. Full Sun
  2. Partial Shade
  3. Full Shade
  4. Light Water
  5. Moderate Water
  6. Heavy Water
  7. Light to Moderate Water
  8. Moderate to Heavy Water
  9. Tall Tree
  10. Small Tree
  11. Large Shrub
  12. Small Shrub
  13. Ankle Biter

Plant key is used to describe the origin and state of the plant species.  Below are the terms used for plant key.

  1. Endangered
  2. Rare
  3. Endemic
  4. Indigenous
  5. Polynesian Introduction

For other fields like description, cultural uses, etc, you can enter words that you think may be of interest or applicable.  For example, if you're interested in what kind of plants produce flowers great for lei making, you would type in "lei" in the Cultural Uses search box.
